Office Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
Gates open for students at 8:45am. Open playground hours are from 8:45 - 8:55am.
Class hours for K - 5th grades: 9:00am - 3:00pm
Wednesday Early Release: 9:00am - 2:15pm
School Campus Closes 3:00pm
ATTENTION PARENTS:
All students will receive a free breakfast, lunch, and dinner this year. There is no need to fill out the free and reduced lunch applications.
- Breakfast is served after the bell at 9am in the classrooms.
- Lunch is served during the day in the cafeteria.
- Dinner is served after school in the cafeteria and is open to all children 18 years and younger.
For information regarding kindergarten registration, click here or call the school office at 775-677-5480. Our office staff will be happy to answer any questions related to registration. All registration for new and returning students must be done online through Infinite Campus. To register new to district or new kindergarten students be sure to complete the online registration process before bringing required documents to the school office. For online registration click here and follow the steps. Once completed, bring an original birth certificate, immunization records, proof of address and your photo ID to the office. Registration is not complete until the office receives these documents. We look forward to welcoming you to Stead Elementary School!

Picking up your student during school hours:
Parents or guardians are able to check out students at the Main Office. Parents or guardians must be present at the time of check-out during school hours Please remember to bring a government issued photo ID for smooth and easy pick up. We will call your student down as soon as we have verified your ID and the student has been signed out.
Please plan additional time to have your child called out of class as we are not able to call them early to wait in the office prior to checking a photo ID.
Given the length of time it takes to check-out a student, we do not check students out from class lesson than fifteen minutes before the end of the school day.
Reporting an absence:
Absences can be reported through your Infinite Campus Portal.
From your Parent Portal home page, access the menu by clicking the 3 lines in the top left corner, from there select "more" and choose the "absence request" option.
If applicable please bring doctor's/dentist's notes to the office to verify the absence.
